"LGBT" Section 377 has now been decriminalised by the Supreme court of India.
Most of us do not know the meaning of LGBTQ Let me tell you something about the "LGBTQ" term. LGBTQ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and queer. On 6th September 2018, the Supreme Court of India took a bold decision against the 158-year-old colonial law under Section 377 of the IPC which led the deep-rooted discrimination against people of the same sex involved in a consensual relationship. Justice Indu Malhotra, one of the judges of the Indian supreme court, held that section 377 of the Indian penal code, which criminalizes consensual sexual acts between adults of the same sex, was unconstitutional. Supreme court also said that the discrimination against such people has also adversely impacted their mental health and t he right to live with dignity has been recognized.
